SSC-ONS
ONS is a Shared Service Centre for multiple local and regional government organisations. As a shared service centre, ONS must deliver IT services that meet the requirements of all the organisations involved. Because of the public role played by these organisations, additional requirements are placed on data security and processing.
Prior to the public tender process, a market consultation was carried out and a business case prepared. Based on an unambiguous and auditable assessment, a suitable supplier could be selected.
Because of the scope of services and the number of organisations involved, it was decided to start separate processes for the data centre and application hosting lot and the workstations lot.
